Our multi-disciplined, cross-functional team of experts work to solve customer demands with an in-house machine shop. York is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager (Hands-On) to join our fast paced and skills-oriented Team. The Maintenance Manager will organize and lead the Maintenance Team to implement the plant’s maintenance programs and be responsible for the overall maintenance of systems, equipment, and tooling. The goal of the Maintenance Manager is to achieve operating standards, through the sustainable and highly reliable performance of equipment/machinery. This is executed through the hands-on management of maintenance and PM programs (for production and support equipment), conducting regular maintenance tasks, from preventative actions, to troubleshooting and repair of malfunctions. The ideal candidate must have prior, hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing shop floor environment, be familiar with fabrication tools, equipment / machinery, possess exceptional mechanical knowledge with some Industrial Electrician and Millwright experience.


Responsibilities

Maintenance of all systems, machinery/equipment, and tooling. This is achieved through the completion of scheduled PM, as well as restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing inoperative machine/equipment parts and tooling.
Work directly with the Director of Operations on the maintenance and tooling of advanced 3D-Flow Forming machinery.
Inspect equipment regularly, ensuring data is being properly documented and maintained.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform root cause analysis for machine failures. Coordinate with the Maintenance and Production Team to get the equipment operational.
Recommend necessary adjustments to machinery to ensure proper production run, improving equipment reliability, uptime and run efficiency.
Ensure the work procedures for corrective and preventive maintenance repairs are conducted as per company health and safety standards.
Track and report all maintenance activities using KPI’s.
Proactively schedule site visits with vendors and contractors to optimize performance of equipment. Responsible for managing contractors on site, ensuring that visitors work in compliance with Health & Safety Policy.
Determine required parts and maintenance supplies for purchasing.
Lead and participate in projects of equipment installation, modifications, restoration, and repair.
Schedule and coordinate downtime / shutdown work in conjunction with Production Team.
Coordinate and conduct plant safety and facilities improvement projects.
Read technical drawings (GD&T) and Electrical Schematics.
Verify and maintain electrical components to schematic standards.
Compute dimensions and tolerances. Use measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges and verniers.
Operate lifting devices such as overhead cranes and man-lifts (scissor lifts / skyjacks).
Maintain, follow, and ensure quality procedures and work instructions within the department.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Operation.


Skills & Qualifications

Strong industrial maintenance background, with some Electrician and Millwright experience.
Education: Mechanical Engineering background is an asset. Licensed Electrician and/or Millwright is an asset.
Understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in a Maintenance position in a manufacturing environment.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good sense of risk mitigation.
Familiar with automated production equipment, robotics, CNC, PLC and press shop operations.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings (GD&T) and electrical schematics.
Ability to work in a fast-paced shopfloor environment.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work in a hands-on capacity, both in a team and autonomously.
Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work under tight deadlines and can work evenings and weekends to respond to emergency shutdowns.

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
