Where You Will Work

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description

Highly skilled workers who perform maintenance crafts work such as plumbing, pipefitting, welding, machining, boiler making, gear component assembly or other specialized area. Will perform maintenance activities independently, with minimal supervision.

Specifically, a Machinist performs duties related to the set up and operation of machine tools and fits and assembles parts to make or repair metal parts, mechanisms, tools or machines using Metal Lathes, Drill Press, Horizontal Milling Machine, Band Saw and Boring Unit. Lays out work from drawings, sketches, and written specifications. Rebuilds all gearing components on 4100XPA, XPB, XPC/AC Komatsu Electric Shovels including Hoist 1st and 2nd intermediate assembly, Hoist Drum assembly, Propel and Swing Shaft Assembly, Crowd Gear Case Assembly, Point Sheave Assembly, Saddle Block Assembly, Side Frame Line Boring and Motor Alignments. The estimated pay range for this role is currently $27.00 - $37.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
