What you'll do
As a Machinist III, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating both CNC and manual machining equipment, with a focus on vertical milling systems using HAAS controls. You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and R&D to ensure parts are produced with the highest precision, conforming to design intent, and delivered on time for prototype and production builds.
+ Set up and operate CNC and manual machining centers, including HAAS vertical mills, to produce high-precision components.
+ Perform tool selection, tool changes, and machine adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
+ Complete first-off and last-off part validation and collaborate with the Quality team for first article inspections and in-process checks.
•Programming and Documentation
+ Utilize SolidWorks CAM or similar software for toolpath generation and post-processing to create efficient and accurate machining programs.
+ Interpret engineering drawings using GD&T and verify part conformance with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs).
+ Document machining methods and maintain up-to-date toolpath and setup documentation in accordance with established procedures.
•Process Improvement and Troubleshooting
+ Maintain machining equipment, ensure consumables and tooling are stocked, and perform routine maintenance to maximize uptime.
+ Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams to troubleshoot, refine, and optimize part designs and production methods.
+ Support 6S and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What we're looking for
•High School diploma/GED equivalent required
•Experience with HAAS Mill Control
•Familiarity with a variety of tooling and fixturing/work holding for multi-piece production modes
•Ability to assemble parts and tools in the machine shop
•Ability to read and interpret engineering prints
•Ability to work with limited direction and supervision
•Strong prioritization, and organizational skills
•Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Nice to have
•SolidWorks and SolidWorks CAM fluent / certification
•Ability to set-up and run manual mill / surface grinder / lathe
•Experience with coating parts
•Fabrication and shop experience
