Powder River, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of livestock handling equipment, and is currently looking for a Machine Operator for our manufacturing facility in Provo, UT. The ideal candidate for this role has some experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail and is committed to workplace safety.
Machine Operator responsibilities and duties:
•
Set up machinery and ensure all materials are readily available
•
Effectively monitor production equipment
•
Maintain a safe and clean work space
•
Perform repetitive work on machines to manipulate steel into a variety of simple and complex parts for production welding and assembly
•
Use applicable machines including: saws, drills, press brakes, benders, and laser cutting machines
•
Must be able to read and understand work orders
•
Must have the ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th”
•
Must be able to maintain a steady work pace while still meeting safety and quality standards
Machine Operator Qualifications and Skills:
•
Prefer some manufacturing experience
•
Ability to accurately read work orders
•
Knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting- Highly preferred
•
Committed to quality, safety and communication
•
Team-oriented and self-directed
•
Ability to pass a mandatory drug screen test
•
Ability to complete basic calculations with the aid of a computer and calculator
Physical Demands and Abilities:
•
Reaching, extending hands and arms in any direction
•
Standing for up to 8 hours
•
Frequently lifting 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
•
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as reading purchase orders and visual inspection of parts.
•
The worker is subject to hazards, includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and moving vehicles.

Salary: $19.00 per hour
Schedule:

Monday-Thursday- 6am-3:30pm- 36+4 program
