AIS Construction Equipment is the oldest Michigan owned and operated heavy equipment company in the state and has been serving customers for over 60 years. We are looking for a Machine Control Service Technician that will provide support & service for all types of positioning equipment supported by AIS. Technician will be subjected to various working environments which include: field work which will require the individual to travel to different jobsites around the metro Detroit area; shop work that will require working indoors in the service center shop on repairs, installations, calibrations or software updates; and office work which will require creating work orders, sending emails, answering phone calls, etc. (in our New Hudson AIS office).
Responsibilities:
•Update GPS receivers & machine control equipment on heavy equipment
•Installation of grade control systems on construction equipment & attachments
•Complete calibration and setup on construction machines with factory integrated technologies
•Assist equipment salesman with machine control demos and presentations
•Assist with over-the-counter parts sales, support and service
•Provide knowledge on all related products required for the entire jobsite to effectively run
•Be able to guide customers through problems, questions, and training over the phone
•Maintain a parts stock within service center for warranty repairs
•Create work orders, invoices and complete the billing cycle to customer
•Attend needed manufacturer training
Requirements:
•18 years of age or older with a valid drivers license
•High school diploma or GED
•Knowledge of heavy equipment and some experience in repair/posses a technical background
•Ability to create and deliver effective and accurate sales and service presentations
•Ability to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
•Ability to lift and carry over 50lbs
•Must be able to pass a background/credit check and drug screening
