What You’ll Do
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The following list of duties and responsibilities for this position are not intended to be all inclusive; other duties may be assigned as necessary depending on business needs and operations at the Residential Mental Health Program.
•Keep accurate count of medication. Conduct inventory checks and complete relevant forms when medication is below 10-day supply.
•Maintain accurate and complete recordkeeping regarding administration of injections to all clients. Ensure that injections are available on site at least 5 days prior to administration.
•Maintaining, updating and inputting all relevant documentation in company-provided electronic devices, including the on-site table terminals.
•Store medication properly.
•Schedule timely and proper medication administration times.
•Confirm dosage, routine and time frequency of administration of medications.
•Conduct individualized patient assessments, including nutrition.
•Document and review patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses, and other data prior to administration of medication (review allergies and note contraindications to medications and potential interactions).
•Educate client on each medication.
•Report any changes in clients’ health to Doctors and medical staff.
•Dispose of unused medications and disposable equipment according to company policy.
•Comply with applicable laws, including HIPAA, by handling clients’ protected health information accordingly and maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patients.
•Perform CPR in emergencies.
•Perform wellness checks and document on proper form.
•Collaborate with team members to help meet positive patient care outcomes.
•Update medication according to Doctors orders.
•Monitor work environment and premises to ensure the cleanliness, safety and compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
•Maintain and update master medication sheet each time a change is made.
•Review client’s medical file and charts when new medication is ordered to reduce the risk of medication errors, including duplications, dosing errors and drug interactions.
•Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and basic life support protocols.
•Maintain current competency in nursing specialty.
•Attend and satisfactorily complete all training as assigned.
•Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the members and their families’ diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.
•Must always comply with the Company’s uniform policy and wear and display office badge while on duty.
•Comply with the company’s expense reimbursement policy, including submission of timely requests and supporting documentation.
•Assist with and perform other related duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
Requirement
•Be actively Licensed in state of California as a LVN and maintain all continued licensing requirements.
•Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
•Must demonstrate knowledge, use and awareness of medication action, side effects and protocols.
•Although not required, experience in dealing with and assisting individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use and homelessness is preferred.
•Excellent verbal communication skills.
•Must be reliable, dependable and maintain a positive and professional attitude.
•Must be able to work any shift, including weekends, night and holidays.
•Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
•Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
•Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and climbing stairs.
•Repetitive use of hands and arms.
