Low Voltage Design Engineer (BICSI RCDD Required)
Remote in the Nashville, TN area for a permanent position.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Design Engineer with a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credential to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement low voltage systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
•
Design structured cabling systems, including data, voice, and video infrastructure
•
Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD/BIM software
•
Conduct site surveys and collaborate with project teams to assess client needs
•
Ensure designs meet BICSI, TIA/EIA, and other relevant industry standards
•
Provide technical expertise during project planning, installation, and testing phases
•
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate low voltage systems
•
Perform quality assurance and troubleshoot design or implementation issues
Qualifications
•
BICSI RCDD certification (mandatory)
•
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or related field preferred
•
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in low voltage system design
•
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
•
Strong knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, NEC codes, and BICSI best practices
•
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
•
Strong communication and teamwork skills
