The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective routing of company-owned and third-party transportation assets to meet customer delivery expectations. Key responsibilities include optimizing order fulfillment strategies, assigning loads to drivers, overseeing customer inventory levels, managing supply commitments, and serving as a primary point of contact for customer communications.
- Coordinate and communicate dispatch assignments to drivers promptly using TMW, TotalMail & Cargas software to ensure optimal productivity.
- Monitor and manage customer fuel inventory levels, scheduling deliveries to maintain compliance with inventory standards.
- Assign orders to drivers in alignment with customer requirements, including delivery windows, supply obligations, equipment specifications, and special instructions.
- Identify capacity constraints within Source One’s operating geography and engage approved third-party carriers to meet delivery demand.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders—including drivers, operations managers, and customers—to resolve logistics and service-related issues.
- Review driver logs and schedule daily activities to ensure full compliance with DOT regulations.
- Ensure all dispatch communications and assignments reinforce Source One’s commitment to safety.
- Schedule deliveries based on tank levels, ensuring safe fill thresholds (not exceeding 90%) are maintained.
- Optimize routing and analyze TMW orders daily to maximize loaded mileage across dispatched units.
- Proactively solicit additional business when capacity exceeds demand or to improve loaded mileage efficiency.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Managers to coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs, enhancing equipment availability and utilization.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency through enhanced use of drivers, equipment, and transportation technology.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by assisting with customer service inquiries, phone support, and cross-functional coordination.
- Deliver exceptional service through clear, professional communication with customers, colleagues, and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution—or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and make sound, timely business decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Windows and Internet Explorer.
- Experience in the petroleum industry is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving complex logistical challenges.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with transportation management systems such as TMW, PeopleNet, and TotalMail preferred.
