Job description: Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Logistics Accounting Specialist in Dallas, TX who will be responsible to assists with the company’s logistics accounting and finance operations by supporting the logistics operations team with month-end close activities, vendor management, budgeting and reporting, ensuring operational and financial controls, consistency, and best practices.

Job Duties

Creates month-end accruals for logistics costs as part of the month-end closing process.
Completes a monthly flux analysis for the logistics freight accounts with detailed explanations by internal audit requirements.
Monitors the accounting entries related to the accruals for logistics freight costs through various systems and workflows
Monitors the logistics invoice receipt processes to ensure vendor invoices are timely and properly processed within the various systems
Identifies deviations from the standard accrual and invoice receipt process, reports and communicates the deviations, and assists in correcting the deviations.
Ensures timely approval, payment, and clearing of invoiced logistics-related charges.
Reconciles the logistics accruals and vendor accounts
Monitors logistics activities related to budgeting
All monitoring and workload are conducted under minimum to no supervision.
Ensures compliance with the Company’s Accounting Policies and Procedures for logistics accounting issues to ensure the Controller’s department is in compliance with GAAP.
Point of contact for logistics-related departments, award recipients, and employees regarding a variety of logistic accounting-related questions such as grant terms, vesting, bonus, payroll, etc.
Maintains account reconciliations for payroll-related accounts including stock reconciliations, shares available for use, treasury stock, and cash equivalent grants for international recipients.
Tracks stock shares and units outstanding regularly to include, but not limited to, reconciling to the transfer agent (EQ) and tracking of shares available under the compensation program
Calculates new grant decisions setting up the liability as well as uploading files.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in general accounting

Preferred Experience

Two years of industry experience.

Education Level

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance or related.

Preferred Education

Masters, CMA or CPA is preferred.

Required Skills

Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word), strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication; analytical, problem-solving solving and decision-making skills; and detail-oriented. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with accounting software. A broad and deep understanding of accounting practices and procedures.

Preferred Skill

Experience with Data analytics and SAP Financial software is preferred.
