Reports to: Pipeline Construction Manager

Position Summary

The Line locator is responsible for marking the location of underground lines for construction activities requiring excavation.

Essential Functions Statement:

- Locates high, intermediate, distribution pressure steel, poly, PVC gas pipelines as requested

- Locates D. I., galvanized, plastic, PVC and copper water lines as requested

- Locates distribution system, primary and secondary electric lines as requested

- Locates sewer lines as requested

- Manages One Calls for all active construction projects and updates them as needed

- Informs Engineering & Planning Department of up to date utilities in services areas and changes in service area that needs to be corrected on maps and/or plats

- Checks daily locate requirements with Pipeline Construction Manager

- Reports problems to construction manager found while locating in service areas

Work Environment

This job operates in a construction setting outdoors, in remote locations, and routinely uses physical abilities to perform tasks throughout the construction site. Some travel may be required.

Work Hours and Schedule

This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday - Saturday from either 7am-5pm or 8am-6pm. Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs.

Required Education & Experience

Experience: 1 year in field utilities locate experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Experience: 2+ years in field utilities locate experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little to no assistance.
