Mighty Argo is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Lift Systems Manager to lead the daily operation and mechanical oversight of our aerial gondola system in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The ideal candidate brings hands-on mechanical expertise with aerial lift systems (e.g., Doppelmayr, Leitner-Poma), leadership experience, and a strong commitment to safety, guest service, and operational excellence.
This role is responsible for supervising lift operations staff, performing critical maintenance and inspections, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal tramway regulations. As the go-to expert for lift reliability and readiness, the Lift Systems Manager will play a key role in shaping operational standards and supporting a safe, memorable guest experience in a high-altitude mountain environment.
- Supervise daily operation of the gondola, ensuring reliable and safe guest transport.
- Lead, schedule, and train Lift Operators in standard procedures and guest service.
- Conduct and document daily safety briefings, operator logs, and incident reports.
- Enforce weather response procedures, guest conduct policies, and evacuation protocols.
- Ensure compliance with ANSI B77.1 operations standards and state licensing rules.
- Perform and oversee preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Coordinate and execute routine inspections in accordance with Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board and OEM guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date service records, compliance documentation, and inspection readiness.
- Respond to lift performance issues and coordinate corrective actions with the Facilities Director and additional lift mechanic staff.
- Serve as on-site compliance lead for state inspections, licensing, and audits.
- Ensure all operators and maintenance staff meet required training certifications.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and federal/state tramway safety guidance.

- 5+ years experience in lift operations and/or aerial lift maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of ANSI B77.1, OSHA, and Colorado Tramway Board standards.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude (hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems).
- Proven supervisory or lead technician experience.
- Ability to climb towers, lift 50+ lbs, and work at elevation in all weather conditions.- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Certification from the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board.
- Experience with lift systems by Doppelmayr, Leitner-Poma, or Bartholet.
- Welding/fabrication skills and project coordination experience.
- Electrical certifications as applicable
- Hourly Range: $85,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
