As a Lead Yard Hand for our Denver District, you will contribute to our team by:
•Prioritizing, assigning, and monitoring tasks of yard employees.
•Coordinate all yard material handling and shipping/receiving activities.
•Oversee preparation and circulation of shipping paperwork and documentation.
•Assist in preparation of orders to fill requisitions.
•Ensure equipment and materials are stored safely in accordance with organizational plan.
•Ensure equipment and materials are in safe working order.
•Monitor stocking levels of stores inventory and tools.
•Communicate with vendors to coordinate trucking and deliveries
•Operate yard truck as needed (e.g., when primary driver is offsite)
•Assist with inventory management and general yard organization
•Ensure proper load securement for all transported materials
•Perform routine checks to maintain safety and efficiency
•Train and monitor employees to execute work in compliance with PCL company policy, procedures, and guidelines.
•Ensure all daily activities are performed in accordance with PCL HSE manual and Denver yard HSE plan.
•Provide safety and performance feedback on yard employees to yard supervisor.
•Provide consistent customer service across all activities.
•Perform other duties as requested by the yard supervisor.
What you will bring to the role:
•Must be 18 years of age or older.
•Knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
•Knowledge of load securement practices
•High regard for safety and pride for quality of work.
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
•Self-motivated and a team player.
•Forklift experience helpful, but not required
•Able to multi-task, show initiative, and ask questions as needed.
•Able to follow directions to ensure completion of daily tasks.
•Have a high degree of flexibility in a changing environment.
•Must have reliable transportation.
•Strength to perform average lifting of up to 35 pounds and occasionally to 50 pounds, from the ground to waist level.
•Should be able to navigate through the worksite daily.
•Occasionally climbs up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and under pressure.
•Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical.

The salary range for this position is between $23 and $29 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Owner provided housing and travel costs paid to and from the job site.
