ADB is seeking a Lead Technician, Permitting to provide expert level permitting functions within the OSP Engineering team. This position will work closely with other permitting technicians, engineering team members, and construction teams to ensure quality and timely permits are provided for various utility construction installs nationwide. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and

Roles And Responsibilities

- Ability to provide expert level permitting functions within the OSP Engineering team to ensure engineering designs are approved by local municipalities to prepare for various utility construction project

- Expert level knowledge of easement, right of way, and property lines

- Ability to identify jurisdiction boundaries: including, but not limited to, city, county, DOT, railroad, and pole owners

- Gather information on jurisdictional guidelines and permit submittal process

- Expert Level understanding and ability to track all electronic data of submittals and project timelines

- Ability to read and interpret construction prints and designs

- Compile and deliver complete, ready to work, permit packages to internal and external customers

- Collaborates with construction leaders on forecasting and cost to completes for permitting portion of projects

- Supports management on bidding and estimating functions of Permitting projects

- Supports Management on various functions, including but not limited to, customer update calls, permit package reviews, permit challenges in various markets, team member leadership, etc.

- Provides training and support to Level I and Level II Permit techs on various position duties

- Updates and reviews Engineering tracker on project status; distributes workload to Permit team

- Ability to manage and problem solve specialized permits including but not limited to, Army Corp of Engineers, railroad crossings, plan and profile, and various jurisdictional requirements

- Collaborate closely with local municipalities and customers

- Manage and track all permits throughout the course of a construction build

- Walks design routes with local municipalities on placement including hand hole sets, fiber installs and locations, etc.

- Basic understanding of Aerial make ready, PLA’s, and local power guidelines for aerial joint use attachment designs

- Performs other duties as requested by leadership

Work Environment

- This job operates in a professional office environment

- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions including climbing hills, sitting, standing, bending, walking, and driving

- Company required personal protective equipment always required, including, but not limited to safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats


Experience And Education

- 5+ years of telecommunication permitting experience required

- Previous telecommunications engineering experience within CAD, GIS, Construction, or Design preferred

- Ability to drive a company provided vehicle; valid drive license with clean driving record required

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
