If you are an ENGINEERING/QUALITY PROFESSIONAL looking for an opportunity to grow. Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will represent Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to provide inputs at program milestones regarding design for manufacturing. As a New Product Development SQE, you will Lead the tracking of PPAP status for New Product Development (NPD) Programs from an SQE standpoint.
As a LEAD NPD SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER, You Will:
- Attend NPD meetings (Includes weekly Engineering & Team meetings, FMEA, Gate Reviews, Design Reviews) and represent SQE. Present status of SQE department responsibilities such as PPAP approval status and corrective actions to all management levels. Coordinate Commodity SQE involvement as needed.
- Assist Procurement Program Manager in assuring that adequate design/print reviews occur with Suppliers and Commodity SQEs for new outsourced parts.
- Provide input as to part manufacturability and provide improvement suggestions to Copeland Product / Design Engineering. Involve Commodity SQEs as appropriate to provide DFM input to promote robust product manufacturability and quality.
- Maintain project & PPAP status list of new and changed part numbers for programs assigned. Communicated upcoming milestones to commodity SQE's to maintain overall project schedule.
- Prepare presentations as required to communicate program status to various levels of the organization.
You understand internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations and needs. You persist in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks, plus maintain a track record of exceeding goals by successfully pushing yourself and helping others achieve results. You effectively communicate in various settings; one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. Able to adjust message communication to fit the audience and provide helpful/timely information to individuals across the organization.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical or related field plus ten (10) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience
- Quality engineering experience including knowledge and experience in:
- APQP; Flow Charting, Control plans, PFMEA
- Statistical Process Control
- Measurement System Analysis (Gage R&R)
- Problem Solving, Corrective Action, Process Improvement Techniques
- Quality Systems; ISO 9000 and or TS16949
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including GD&T
- Understanding of manufacturing processes used in relevant commodities
- Travel up to 15% within North America
- Bachelors degree in Engineering plus fifteen (15) years experience
- Master's Degree in Engineering or MBA
- Certifications in ASQ (CQA, CQE, CQM)
- Certified 6 Sigma Green Blet or Equivalent, Completion on ECCQP
- A broad knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
- Quality Auditing; System (ESAC) and process.
- Advanced statistics, problem solving and process improvement techniques.
- Broad knowledge of Copeland LP products such as product function / application, customer expectations, material properties.
This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs.
