The Packing Lead supports the Supervisor in overseeing daily operations of the Packing department. This role ensures orders are packed accurately, safely, and on schedule, while providing direction and guidance to team members.
- Order Processing & Accuracy – Verify that all orders are packed correctly and meet customer specifications. Address shortages, coordinate with appropriate personnel to locate items, and ensure all documentation is complete. (40%)
- Team Leadership & Training – Assign daily tasks, monitor work quality, and provide coaching to team members. Support onboarding and cross-training to maintain flexibility within the department. (25%)
- Safety & Compliance – Enforce safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment. Monitor work areas for hazards and ensure compliance with company policies. (15%)
- Equipment & Material Handling – Operate and direct the safe use of forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move, stage, and load materials. Maintain packing supplies and ensure workstations are orderly. (15%)
- Supervisor Support – Act as the point of contact in the Supervisor’s absence by directing workflow, prioritizing orders, and communicating with other departments as needed. (5%)

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified forklift operator; crane certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret packing and shipping instructions in English
- Basic computer skills for documentation and order verification
- Ability to read tape measures, count pieces, and verify order quantities
- Prior lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed
