Lead Project System Engineer

Lead Project System Engineer (full time) – Upwing Energy, Inc., 26077 Nelson Way, Suite 1511, Katy, TX 77494.

Work location in Katy, TX. Develop an understanding of full system operating principles, risks, benefits and costs; Own requirements for the SCS at all levels – system, subsystems, components, ancillary equipment, etc.; Work with the greater engineering team to define and refine requirements; Communicate system needs and expectations internally; Technical ownership, oversight and review of the design from the system perspective; Provide design contribution to the core engineering team; Lead Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Corrective Action investigations; Work with cross-functional team members to prepare test plans; Work with technicians to execute test plans and resolve testing issues; Support engineering and operations teams in system integration; Work with operations and quality teams to disposition manufacturing deviations; Report status of requirements validation and root cause investigations; When necessary, establish and maintain project plans (scope, schedule, and cost) with internal teams and external stakeholders, keeping all informed of status and associated risks. Requires a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. Knowledge of high-speed rotating machinery, turbomachinery, power electronics or industrial automation of complex systems; System integration, specifically with electromechanical systems; Capable of identifying and advocating for system interests in the development process; Familiarity with a wide range of ancillary equipment and control/automation of that equipment; Familiarity with the oil and gas industry. Requires little domestic (1-2 weeks every two months) and international travel (1-3 weeks per year) to client sites.
