Job Summary
The Lead Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of large complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and within scope. In addition, the role is responsible for managing project resources, stakeholders, risks, and deliverables to achieve business objectives to drive/project success ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of project management principles. Works independently with limited supervision and coaches and reviews the work of colleagues with less experience.
Essential Functions
•Plans out the delivery for high complex projects to realize the business case beginning with the requirements definition and continuing through development, test, and final delivery.
•Demonstrates excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
•Builds strong relationships with NiSource technology partners, Executive Management and Vendor Service Providers.
•Leads project management processes to facilitate contract negotiation, statement of work development, vendor progress management, and vendor relationship management.
•Demonstrates an exceptional understanding of core project management activities for risk, issue, decision management, dependency management, status reporting, demand, budgeting, forecasting, variance explanations and capacity management.
•Develops high-performing, empowered teams, provide coach, nurture the pursuit of organizational vision, promote collaboration at all levels.
•Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to create/present effective project presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients.
•Demonstrates exceptional knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative and Agile) and tools (ServiceNow, PowerBI and Jira).
•Develops clear and concise documentation to identify processes, problems, and action plans as well as design attractive and simple sketches, charts, diagrams, and other illustrative material to facilitate communication of complicated topics.
•Manages the relationship between customer, other customer IT environment providers, and service provider personnel.
•Develops proposals and project estimates and conduct project quality reviews.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

•Required Qualifications For Position
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
•5-8+ years of project management experience
•5-8+ years of overall work experience
•Have lead projects in the $3-5M budget range
•Experience in the utilities industry
•Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of business applications
•Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools. High
•Agile process experience for application implementation. Medium
•Advanced understanding of IT Enterprise technologies. High
•Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. High
•Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills. High
•Strong verbal and written communication skills. High
•Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients. High
•Extensive knowledge of project management processes, systems development methods, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement methods. High
•In-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and automated project planning tools required. High

•Master's Degree in project management or business administration

•4+ years of supervisory experience either directly or indirectly

Salary Range*:
$110,200.00 - $165,300.00 The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.*
