Job Summary:
The Lead Hand’s core job responsibility is to act as a support role and extension of the local leader, as determined by the Operations Team to which they report. The job requires a focus on safety, professionalism and service. As a member of the 4Refuel team, the Lead Hand is expected to deliver fuel as required and ensure service delivery commitments are met as outlined through enforcing, mentoring, and reporting on all 4Refuel policies and values. Note: A Lead Hand position is often a combination of driving duties and team logistics/oversight while conducting fueling operations.
Major Job Functions:
•Ensures fuel is delivered and customers are serviced as per daily instruction/requirements.
•Monitors all field activities during on-duty time. Resolves challenges as necessary.
•Accurately and thoroughly completes all essential administrative paperwork/tasks as required by the company. Timely processes of all MDS sheets, reports driver logs and other related documentation.
•Ensures DOT compliance items are fulfilled (Pre/Post Trips inspections and documentation).
•Reports any customer concerns or vehicle related concerns immediately to the management team.
•Assists in onboarding training as required.
•Provides coaching and leadership support to field driver’s under his/her authority depending on regional assignments.
•Manage, coordinate and report all emergency situations by determining nature of the incident, ensuring the safety and security of the truck and load, contacting emergency service, and organizing repairs and replacement equipment.
•Other duties as assigned – highly dependent on regional needs assessment for this role.

Knowledge:
•Understanding of core business requirements and service delivery expectations consistent with the applicable BTU.
•Must have a safety and compliance mindset and be familiar with all EH&S and HR policies.
•Excellent communication skills/strong customer focus.
•Knowledge of regulatory requirements i.e. TSSA, TDG, WHMIS, Fuel Handling Act and other pertinent provincial or federal regulations.

•Operate with integrity through maintaining social, ethical and organizational integrity in conducting business activities; maintains confidentiality, adheres to corporate policies and procedures
•Responsible for maintaining an effective work environment which successfully contributes to the achievement of the business goals and objectives for 4Refuel and the work unit
Education & Experience:
•Previous experience as a Driver is required with a successful track record.
•Must have previous Supervisory experience
•Demonstrated willingness to learn and strong knowledge of routes and local operations.
•A strong grasp of leadership skills and conflict resolution tactics.
