What’s The Role
Shell is seeking a Lead Equipment Engineer to join their team in Houston.
Accountabilities:
•Equipment engineer scope will be biased for our GOM Completions and Well Intervention tool pool (Intervention systems, intervention tooling, completion THRA’s and associated tooling, IWOCS reels, sour intervention riser, and CCTLF) but will also support international regions where required such as Brazil upcoming Q7000 scope, riser based, and riserless based interventions
•Provide technical recommendations on upgrades and/or repairs for our Shell owned equipment
•Accountable for oversight of all the Shell owned intervention systems (15K OWIRS and MDIS) and tooling. Ensure appropriate level of readiness. Work with SURF where required to prioritized activities at vendor shops. Ensures that intervention systems and tooling are properly demob and ready for both planned and unplanned activity
•First point of contact for completion and well intervention project teams to ensure Shell tooling required has been prioritized for appropriate mobilization in the shop thru and validating that all equipment goes out with required COC and COS for entry into eWCAT
•Accountable to ensure all project learnings on Shell owned equipment is correctly actioned by OEM and corrective actions have been implemented
•Support where needed on work unit interface planning. Perform vessel surveys, deck layout interfaces, assist with GRAs, as well as creates story boards for various operational rig ups
•Provide recommendations on how all Shell equipment can be tracked as part of an asset management plan (status of maintenance, COC, COS, dispositions, NCR’s)
•Technical resource for OEM contract holder. Support CH in appropriate equipment KPI’s, BPR’s, and contracting strategies
•Track and ensure billing per our JOA’s for all systems and tooling used on Shell operated projects. Review and set appropriate rental prices with Shell finance on a yearly basis
•Actively manage entire Shell tool pool. Provide visibility to intervention team on what tools we are maintaining and provide input on what equipment should be kept and what can be scrapped. Develop sourcing strategy to optimize OPEX spend in GOM
•Provide technical support on vendor well access systems including both rental IRS or riserless WAS systems
•Develop financial structure similar to existing PATEM structure that allows for Completion and Well Intervention tooling funding at the portfolio level. Work with vendors to ensure we have an acceptable level of portfolio readiness to intervene on any well in the portfolio based on the agreed sourcing strategy. Incorporate funding needs into yearly business plan activities. Assist with regional model to allow tooling to be utilized in Brazil and T&T where required
•This position will report directly to the GM Well Operations WIPA with dotted lines to the completion organization
What You Bring
•Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
•At least 15+ years of relevant experience
•Experience in Asset Management, Subsea Pressure Control Systems (top tension IRS, hydraulic stim packages, and riserless light well intervention systems)
What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $195,000 - $293,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
