Reporting to the Director, Risk Management, The Lead Analyst, Risk plays a critical role in supporting Superior Plus’ marketing activities by analyzing commodity and FX market pricing and exposures. This operational role is responsible for daily and monthly risk reporting and compliance functions in alignment with Superior’s Risk Policy. The position also mentors the Risk team and contributes to continuous process improvement.

This is a hybrid position with requirement to work from the Superior Plus Calgary office 3 days per week, subject to change based on business needs.

What you'll do:

- Mentor the Risk team to evaluate and improve current processes.

- Build strong understanding of unit margins and their drivers.

- Investigate trading discrepancies and provide timely updates to Trading and Marketing teams.

- Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly risk reports for Superior divisions.

- Analyze and report key risk metrics including MtM, volumetric position limits, and VaR.

- Perform financial and physical trade capture and oversight confirmation within Right Angle (ETRM).

- Conduct in-depth analysis of risk books and market drivers.

- Provide analytical support to other Superior divisions as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. Studying toward CFA, Master’s degree, or other risk designation is considered an asset.

- 3-5 years of analytical experience in a related field.

- Advanced Excel modeling skills.

- Familiarity with Right Angle/ETRM systems is an asset.

- Strong understanding of risk metrics and financial/physical exposures.

- High level of precision and multitasking required.

- Ability to adapt and provide strategic oversight in a dynamic environment.
