JOB SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for acting as a liaison between Landmen and Land Administration in processing leases, JOA’s assignments, and other oil & gas documents. The Land Technician is also responsible for creating and updating division order decks. Position requires coordination between internal asset disciplines such Land Administration, Accounting, Operations and the Field. The position requires the individual to work independently and to have the ability to work cooperatively with agencies and internal team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provide technical support to the Land Department personnel
•Act as a liaison between Landmen and Accounting, requesting, managing and tracking data
•Maintain monthly and quarterly lease acquisition reports
•Submit spreadsheets with invoices, leases acquired and bonus to Land Brokers
•Manage frequent communications with various agency personnel, broker, landman, and surveyor regarding finalized unit outlines in order to collect the final plat
•Review expiration and rental calendars
•Prepare and amend Unit Designations
•Work in tandem with Division Order department researching unleased mineral interest
•Prepare internal well proposals and track third party proposals
•Process and review all incoming oil & gas lease packages:
•Coordinate payment of bonus consideration
•Prepare cover sheet noting key points for processing to Land Administration
•Verify accuracy of lease package and lease
•Maintain the lease system for all leases on the lease list
•Determine if lease areas (HBD, HBP or UND) and check pay status
•Other duties as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum two (2) years’ experience as Land Technician
•Highly proficient in Excel
•Experience in Microsoft Office XP and Windows 7
•Understanding of oil & gas provisions and unit designations
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Reliable with good work ethic
•Well organized and efficient
•Ability to work with limited supervision
•Ability to work cooperatively with team members and others across various disciplines
Education
•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college
