The Opportunity
We're looking for a sharp and driven Land Intern to join our team for a paid internship for Summer 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation for your career. As an integral part of our land team, you'll contribute to key land functions and gain exposure to unique challenges and opportunities within the energy sector.
Location
This is a hybrid position based out of our Morgantown, West Virginia, office. You’ll be expected to work in the office three days a week.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist in organizing and maintaining land files, including leases, right-of-way agreements, and title opinions.
- Input and update information in our land management software, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct research on property ownership, mineral rights, and legal descriptions using public and internal databases.
- Help review and analyze title documents to identify potential issues or encumbrances.
- Provide general administrative support to the land department as needed.
- Assist with various projects related to acquisitions, divestitures, and due diligence.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental, Energy, Land Management, Business, or a related field.
- Have a strong interest in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be able to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
- Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
- Must be able to perform physical work – exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
