About This Job
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Labourer - Water Clarification to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the site’s water clarification systems. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical aptitude, strong situational awareness, and the ability to work independently—day or night—in an active mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
•
Operate and monitor water clarification systems to ensure optimal performance and environmental compliance
•
Use hand tools to perform minor maintenance and make system adjustments as needed
•
React quickly to alarms or changing conditions in the system
•
Conduct regular water sampling and testing; record and report data accurately
•
Work independently during both day and night shifts while maintaining communication with site personnel
•
Communicate effectively using two-way radio in a busy site environment
•
Drive a pickup truck safely within active mining areas, including red zone driving protocols
•
Work around large mobile equipment (e.g., haul trucks, dozers) while maintaining high situational awareness
•
Follow all site safety, environmental, and operational procedures
Position Requirements
•
Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment
•
Strong ability to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic conditions
•
Comfortable working rotating day and night shifts
•
Prior experience in water treatment or industrial systems is an asset
•
Comfortable using hand tools and working outdoors in all weather
•
Ability to drive in red zones and follow all site traffic rules (training provided)
•
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
•
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening
•
Ability to work outside in changing weather conditions over a 12 hour shift
•
Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
•
Must hold a valid BC driver licence with reliable to transport to meet in Prince George/Vanderhooof
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $27.50 per hour
