Position Summary:
Horizon Maritime Northern Services Ltd. is seeking Labourers at the site at the Marine Transport Services Shipyard and Terminal in the Northwest Territories.
Candidates must be willing to work remotely supporting project sites throughout the region. This position supports Horizon's commitment to a safe and compliant workplace and will play a leadership role in emergency readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist welders, carpenters, painters or other tradespeople on-site
•Handle and transport materials
•Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
Required Qualifications and Certifications:
•Marine or shipyard experience considered an asset.
•Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
•Good hand-eye coordination
•Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
•Communication and teamwork skills
•Commitment to safety rules
Working Conditions:
•Work is primarily conducted outdoors or in confined marine environments.
•Physical demands include climbing, lifting, crawling, and use of safety harness systems.
•Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory and provided.
•Remote work coordination may be required between deployments.
