Laborer/Operator/Burner

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Laborer/Operator to join our team. As a Laborer/Operator, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to the inbound/outbound flow of scrap metal at our facility. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain machinery such as loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, and excavator.

- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debri.

- Perform quality inspections to ensure materials are being separated and shipped correctly.

- Use tools such as sawzalls, grinders, shears, and cutting torches to prepare material for shipment

- Assist customers in unloading material

- Assist with material handling using equipment

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications:

- Strong communication/customer service skills

- Ability to work with a team

- Some mechanical capabilities a plus

- Ability to lift 50 lbs

- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections

- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations

- Ability to operate skid steers, loaders, and other material handling equipment is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42 – 55 per week
