B.Sc. in Chemistry or any scientific/engineering discipline, a minimum of a 2-year Technician/Technology Diploma and two years experience in a commercial laboratory, or a 3-year Technician/Technology Diploma and one year experience in a commercial laboratory

- Organized.
- Ability to handle several tasks at once.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Computer skills an asset.
May include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the Manager.
- Sample weighing when required.
- Sample dissolution using the required wet chemical techniques.
- Gravimetric testing.
- General chemical and reagent preparations for testing.
- Instrumental analysis which may include: ICPMS, ICP, FIMS, LECO and AA.
- Use of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
- Maintenance of equipment in working order and required logs, files, etc, for area of testing.
- Assist in ensuring turnaround time meets clients and Manager’s requirements of two weeks from receipt by working overtime when required.
- Assist in maintaining departmental housekeeping.
- Documentation of all training at time of training.
- Comply with ALL safety procedures including handling of all chemicals as per their MSDS.
- Any other tasks as determined by Lab Manager/Process Owner.
