The Opportunity As a Junior Project Manager, you will be an essential part of our project execution team, learning the many facets of our business while directly contributing to our success. This is a hands-on role designed for a motivated individual looking to accelerate their career in project management. You will work closely with our seasoned Project Manager to support projects from proposal to completion. This role provides a clear path for professional growth, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and eventually manage your own projects.
· You’ll be the right hand to our Project Manager, assisting with the day-to-day execution of contracted projects to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
· Support all phases of the project lifecycle, including project accounting, work scope development, scheduling, forecasting, and maintenance of documentation.
· Help prepare project quotations by reviewing site conditions and performing preliminary risk analysis to identify potential obstacles.
· Monitor on-the-job cost tracking and productivity, heling to control man-hour costs and project pacing.
· Coordinate with internal teams, including accounting and billing, to manage invoices and track project financials.
· Assist in the procurement and onboarding process for new subcontractors and vendors.
· Serve as a key point of contact for vendor communications, tracking deliverables and timelines to ensure they align with the project schedule.
· Help review and process vendor and subcontractor invoices, ensuring accuracy against project budgets.
· Manage the scheduling, sourcing, and budgeting for the personnel, equipment, and tooling utilized on jobs.
· Contribute to outage event preparation by assisting with schedule development, labor planning, and tooling/cost planning.
· Collaborate with technical and field teams to develop procedures on the proper use of equipment.
· Travel to project sites for site visits to observe project field execution and support our field service teams.
· As you develop in the role, take ownership and serve as the lead Project Manager for smaller-scale projects.
· Responsibilities and tasks may evolve based on organizational needs, and the employee may be required to take on additional projects or duties as assigned.
Reports To: Project Manager Pay Rate: Starting at $70,000.00; commensurate with experience Location: Bluffdale, UT (Hybrid – up to two days per week remote)
Travel: Minimal (occasional travel to job sites, <10%)
Experience & Skills
Your initial pay rate will be based on your relevant experience and demonstrated capabilities.
o Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
o 1-3 years of experience in a project coordination, administration, or related support role.
o Familiarity with the technical and maintenance aspects of gas/steam/hydro turbines and generators is a strong plus.
o Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities with great attention to detail. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.
o Strong time management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task under pressure with minimal supervision. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
o Proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace Suite; experience with project management software (MS Project) and web applications is highly desired.
● Able to work in adverse conditions (indoor/outdoor)
● Able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
● Able to continuously perform basic physical movements such as bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and grabbing.
