Junior Assistant Engineer 4th Class Power Engineer
Note: NOT an APEGA Assistant Engineer In Training position
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Junior Assistant Engineer is responsible for the day to day field operation of the Fuel receiving area. The Junior Assistant Engineer works along with a team consisting of the Production Supervisor, Senior Fuel Operator, Assistant Engineer as well as the Maintenance team on week days. Responsibilities include the following:
· Ensuring the fuel receiving area is operating in a manner which is within established safety, health, environmental, and operational guidelines, and taking corrective action when it is not.
· Train up to ensure that the plant is operating in a manner to maximize plant output within established safety, health, environmental, and operational guidelines, and taking corrective action when it is not.
· Maintaining required check sheets and log sheets
· Reporting all equipment issues to the Loader Operator/Production Supervisor
· Working with the Loader Operator/Production Supervisor to resolve equipment issues
· Completing tasks as required by the Production Supervisor including routine maintenance
· Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping at the fuel receiving area as well as in and around the plant. Utilizing industrial vacuum system to maintain boiler house conditions free from fuel and ash accumulations.
· Performing routine equipment rounds to check for plant and equipment conditions, correcting abnormalities or reporting them as appropriate
· Documenting equipment problems which they cannot repair on their own
· Interacting in a positive manner with other team members as well as members of other teams
