Join a hands-on industrial operation supporting air quality compliance and permitting. You’ll help maintain day-to-day compliance for process equipment and control devices, assist with permit actions, and keep monitoring, testing, and reporting on track. - Compliance Routines:
Support daily/weekly/monthly air compliance tasks (logs, visible emissions checks, control-device readings, CEMS/CPMS data pulls).
- Permitting Support:
Help assemble
Title V
and
NSR
applications (renewals, minor mods), track permit conditions, and maintain applicability matrices.
- Testing & Monitoring:
Coordinate stack tests/Method 9/22, verify test protocols and reports, QA/QC CEMS/opacity data, track downtime and deviations.
- Recordkeeping & Reporting:
Maintain compliance calendars and files; draft inputs for semiannual/annual compliance certifications, deviation reports, EI/AERR, TRI, and related submittals.
- Change Management:
Review P&IDs and MOC packages for air implications; help draft operating/maintenance procedures for control devices (e.g., scrubbers, baghouses, oxidizers).
- Fenceline & LDAR Interfaces:
Assist with fenceline monitoring programs and coordinate with LDAR teams on routing, repairs, and documentation.
- Field Presence:
Perform walkdowns/inspections; verify tags, capture readings, and close out corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement:
Trend KPI data (emissions, control uptime), flag anomalies, and recommend practical fixes with operations/maintenance.
- BS in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).
- 0–3 years’ experience (internships/co-ops count) in
air quality
or
environmental compliance
—preferably in chemicals, refining, metals, or industrial recycling.
- Familiarity with
Title V
,
NSR
, and basics of CEMS/stack testing, visible emissions, and control technologies.
- Comfortable working in operating areas (PPE, stairs/ladders, heat) and collaborating with operators, maintenance, and contractors.
- Strong Excel/data skills; clear technical writing; organized with a “compliance calendar” mindset.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Texas systems (e.g.,
STEERS
), TRI/AERR inputs, stormwater basics, and ISO/management-system exposure.
- Hands-on exposure to complex industrial processes and real-world air programs.
