Journeyman Machinist

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining processes and be proficient in operating various CNC machines and manual, including lathes and milling machines. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The Machinist will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.

- Perform CNC programming and CAM programming for efficient machining operations.

- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accurate part dimensions.

- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to understand project requirements.

- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.

- Maintain tooling and hand tools in good working condition for optimal performance.

- Check machines for correct alignment and setup.

- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks as needed.

- Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

- Assemble and disassemble complex tooling and machines.

Qualifications

Must have 5-10 years experience as a machinist.

- Proven experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in CNC programming.

- Follow standard job travelers and adhere to best practices.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.

- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
