Journeyman Layout - Handrail Room

Job summary:

We have immediate openings for a qualified Journeyman Layout candidate with Handrail experience. Responsible for measuring, aligning, and marking material. Looking for motivated individuals to join our team for the long term. Must be able to pass layout test.

Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret structural steel blueprints and plans for layout and assembly

2. Generate cut list from shop drawings

3. Measure and mark materials accurately based on fabrication and detail drawings, ensuring adherence to specified tolerances using weld gauges, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools

4. Use a variety of measuring and marking instruments to mark curves, lines, holes, copes, hardware, and welds

5. Perform precise measurements using pipe bender

6. Cut products using Cold Saw and/or Mitre Band Saw

7. Follow detailed weld procedures

8. Have knowledge on how to safely use general shop power tools, hand tools, and benders

9. Ensure equipment is used properly, maintained and stored after use

Qualifications:

- 5+ years’ experience in structural steel layout

- Must be able to pass layout test

- Must have experience reading shop fabrication drawings

- Attention to detail, must be extremely organized and committed to safety at all times

- Ability to perform precise measurements using tools of the trade

- Able to work under frequent supervision and meet tight deadlines

- Must be able and willing to be trained in different production areas

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
