Follow current work instructions. Job activities include but are not limited to; Troubleshoot electric, electronic and basic hydraulic problems. Repair, replace, modify and upgrade electrical systems and components for machinery and facilities. Plan, layout, install and repair equipment such as control panels, control circuits, relays, circuit breakers, disconnects valves and motors. Balance loads, wire or lay out the wiring of complex circuits with a large number of connections. Bend conduit, pull and terminate wires. Install small power transformers, lights, heaters, fans and other apparatus. Prepare wiring diagrams to record changes. Complete all necessary paperwork. Conduct general housekeeping to ensure cleanliness of area and electrical cabinets. Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner. Wear proper personal protective equipment. Perform any other work assignments as identified by Supervision pursuant to Section 6.07 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Skills, knowledge, and/or abilities needed to perform the job:
· Ability to read and understand PM sheets, work orders, work rules and safety requirements in English.
· Prepare and complete paperwork legibly and accurately in English.
· Demonstrated knowledge in electrical principals by passingwritten Electrician’s test or completing an associate’s degree level maintenance electrician’s course.
· Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and programming PLC’s; application and interface of computers and equipment; knowledge of automation and automated equipment.
· Ability to troubleshoot and repair/modify speed control systems.
· Ability to perform a wide variety of skilled electrical repair and maintenance duties.
· Ability to perform repair on production equipment and facilities, including but not limited to any necessary alteration, modification or installation of equipment or parts.
· Ability to disassemble machinery and equipment, troubleshoot, repair/modify/upgrade, reassemble and test.
· Knowledge of basic hydraulics and pneumatic application and repair.
· Ability to operate necessary equipment and machinery to perform quality job.
Tools and equipment utilized in this position:
· Ability to use various test and measuring equipment including but not limited to; voltmeter, current probe, oscilloscope, voltage testers, DC hipot, wheatstone bridge, megger.
· Documented formal training in areas including but not limited to; AC/DC theory, circuits, motors, applications, programmable logic controllers, three phase motors and controllers, electronic and digital circuits and components, electrical diagrams, schematics and drawings.
Quality control processes performed in this position:
· Ability to determine and use all available and/or necessary measuring devices and tools.
