JOB SUMMARY
Will perform all aspects of environmental administration, to include configuration, troubleshooting, process improvement, and ongoing life-cycle maintenance tasks, such as monitoring, tuning, patching and securing overall systems infrastructure. Responsible for documentation of procedures and development of repeatable best practices. Assists in developing standard operating procedures to ensure a consistent and optimum level of performance for both operational and regulatory compliance.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
•Install, configure and support ERCOT’s assigned platforms and other related systems
•Provides overall support and technical implementation of assigned operating systems and components which includes design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and fine-tuning
•Administers processes which facilitate the connectivity, security and system analysis of assigned operating systems across the organization
•Completes daily implementation of various services for assigned projects
•Installs, documents, tests and monitors server software to maintain server integrity
•Diagnoses network and storage issues and escalates to the appropriate person or department
•Prepares and delivers accurate and timely technical status reports
•Provides support for a 24 x 7 operation
Level 2 – Above +
•Maintains knowledge of relevant hardware platforms to architect technical solutions that maintain the scalability and reliability required to operate a highly-available environment
•Conducts independent research to understand new methodologies and technologies to improve management, maintenance, and configuration of the assigned environments
•Works within the customer environment to successfully deliver technical solutions specific to agreed upon requirements
•Understands and works within the constructs of project processes, scope, and schedules
•Identifies, documents, and verifies technical requirements and activity that mitigate risk
•Performs capacity planning for future releases and deployments of infrastructures
•Participates in the planning and documentation of improving the existing architectures
•Provides subject matter expertise to application groups regarding Client/Server technology
•Establishes strong working relationships with key staff members in departments
Level Senior – Above +
•Serves as a Subject Matter Expert providing guidance to lower level workers
•Conveys team goals effectively through strong written and verbal communication skills
•Works on complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
•Has the ability to resolve issues in creative and effective ways
•Works with technical architecture teams to engineer solutions to complex problems
•Ensures the overall health of the assigned environment that includes proactive management, monitoring, patching, and version control
•Works with ERCOT Project Management Office to ensure timely delivery of systems and applications
EXPERIENCE
•Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
EDUCATION
•Bachelor's Degree : Computer Science, MIS or related field (Required)
•or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

Expected Salary Range:
$76,049 - $121,666
