SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, responsible for managing and optimizing the IT environment, focusing on Tyler ERP applications, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server 2025. Key duties include administering Active Directory and Freshservice, overseeing remote monitoring and management, and ensuring the performance of enterprise printing systems. The role involves developing Power Platform applications and Power BI reports, maintaining system security through regular updates, and creating comprehensive documentation and training materials. Additionally, the System Administrator evaluates hardware and software solutions, provides Tier 2 support, conducts root cause analysis, and assists with IT continuity planning to ensure effective operations and user satisfaction. Responds to emergency IT situations during off-hours as required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Support Tyler ERP Applications: Provide administration and support for Tyler ERP systems, ensuring integration and functionality within the broader IT ecosystem.
- Manage Microsoft 365 Environment: Administer the Office 365 platform, encompassing Teams, SharePoint, PowerApps, and Exchange, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
- Freshservice Administration: Oversee the Freshservice platform, managing ticketing, service requests, and IT asset management to enhance service delivery and user support.
- Power Platform Development: Leverage the Power Platform to create custom applications and automate workflows, enhancing operational efficiency across departments.
- Power BI Reporting: Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights and data visualization for informed decision-making.
- Windows Server 2025 Administration: Administer and maintain Windows Server 2025 environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.
- Active Directory Administration: Manage Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and security settings to ensure a secure and efficient environment.
- System Maintenance and Updates: Perform regular maintenance activities to keep systems current with critical patches and updates, ensuring security and compliance.
- Documentation and Procedure Development: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including procedures, forms, and user guides, to support IT operations and user training.
- Evaluate Hardware and Software Solutions: Assess and recommend hardware and software solutions that meet user requirements, providing both written and verbal recommendations for management review.
- Oversee Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM): Manage and optimize the RMM environment, including tools like Labtech, to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide Tier 2 Support: Deliver advanced technical support to users, resolving complex issues and ensuring a high level of service.
- Monitor System Performance: Continuously monitor systems and applications to ensure optimal performance, proactively addressing any issues that arise.
- User Training and Support: Conduct training sessions for users on software, hardware, and operating systems, utilizing appropriate materials or coordinating with training resources.
- IT Equipment Procurement: Identify specifications for IT equipment and manage procurement in alignment with the budget set by the IT Manager.
- Assist with IT Continuity Planning: Collaborate with the IT Manager to develop and maintain the IT Continuity Plan, focusing on critical business functions, recovery strategies, and cybersecurity measures.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues, developing checklists and solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of new developments in the field through self-study and company-provided training, ensuring skills and knowledge remain up-to-date.

- Requires aBachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree, an Associate’s Degree in Electronics with five to seven years’ experience in an IT system or a High School Diploma with seven to ten years’ experience in IT systems.
- Experience utilizing troubleshooting techniques and knowledge involving computers, networking, software, fiber optic networks, SCADA, security, communications equipment, radio frequency theory, and workstations.
- Experience managing IT projects.
- In-depth, functional, broad-based knowledge of Windows based computer operating systems and networking.
- Prefer two years of experience with maintaining governmental information systems in water/wastewater industry.
- Must have 3-5 years of experience managing Office 365.
- Intermediate-level Microsoft certification or higher, with a focus on Windows Server, Microsoft 365, or the Power Platform is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
