General Summary:
The IT Systems Administrator is a senior-level technical role responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, databases, cloud services, and endpoint systems. In addition to leading complex technical initiatives, the IT Systems Administrator provides hands-on support to end-users and collaborates with the IT Support team to ensure reliable and secure IT operations across the organization.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
•Administer and maintain servers, network devices (e.g., firewalls, switches, wireless access points), ERP software and database systems.
•Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex hardware, software, network, and system issues.
•Support and manage cloud-based platforms and services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Entra, Azure).
•Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
•Lead or participate in the planning, design, and execution of IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
•Implement and enforce IT security best practices across all systems and endpoints.
•Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs and ensure IT alignment with organizational goals.
•Provide mentorship and technical guidance to IT Support Specialists.
•Perform end-user support and hardware/software setups as needed to ensure continuity of service.
•Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents outside of normal business hours.
Working Environment:
•Primarily on-site with occasional remote support responsibilities.
•Travel between facilities may be required at times.
•May require lifting and moving IT equipment.
•Participation in an on-call rotation may be required.
Required Qualifications
:
•5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technical support roles.
•Advanced knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), networking protocols, and database technologies.
•Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., Nutanix, VMware) and containerization.
•Proficiency with IT service desk tools, remote support platforms, and monitoring systems.
•Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
•Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or collaboratively.
•Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
•Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server Database.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, ISC2, ITIL, CompTIA, Ubiquiti)
•Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
•Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and identity management (e.g., Azure AD, Entra ID).
•Experience leading IT projects and mentoring/training staff.
