The best candidate for this position would be an individual with experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting IT technologies, such as servers, virtualization platforms, network appliances, cloud services, and Just-in-Time deployment strategies. Key Responsibilities
•Protect Company data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, documenting, and implementing environment security measures.
•Assist the Director of IT with projects, automation, and enforcing IT policies.
•Serve as liaison for contracted managed services and other vendors, assisting with service-level accountability and project management.
•Manage, monitor, and improve key IT systems (Proxmox, Azure, O365, Exchange, FortiGate SD-WAN, Defender XDR, Intune…) to address or escalate any identified security issues or refine the user experience.
•Manage and maintain the lifecycle of SQL database servers that house critical sensitive data.
•Provide maintenance and lifecycle management for all IT environments, including server and switching hardware, upgrade firmware and software for backend systems, end-user computer systems, applications, hardware, and system configurations.
•Assist with the automation of business and technical processes utilizing the Microsoft Stack of automation tools (PowerShell, Chocolaty, Power Platform, Visual Studio).
•Ensure that system backups and disaster recovery strategies are operational and up to date.
•Troubleshoot, diagnose, and lead to the resolution of hardware, software, and other system problems.
•Serve as escalations (level 3) for the helpdesk.
•Perform maintenance and upgrades of IT systems and services as the vendor requires.
•Design, configure, and test networking devices, computer hardware, and operating system software.
•Contribute to regular security and risk assessments, refine key security systems to support the findings of these assessments, and implement additional systems as needed to ensure an advanced security position.
Required Qualifications
•A bachelor’s degree with relevant subject matter knowledge or an associate degree in an IT-related field is desired but not required.
•Minimum of 5 years of system administration experience with an infrastructure/databases/network engineering background.
•Strong understanding of cloud platforms and virtual environments like Azure, Office 365, Exchange, Power Platform, and Virtualization platforms like Proxmox and VMWare; additional knowledge of SD-WAN, WAN, VPN, distributed storage, and telecommunications administration is necessary.
•The ability to work nights and weekends (including overnight stays) as needed and the willingness to travel to any office location to provide support.
•A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Desired Skills And Experiences

•Demonstrated experience managing projects and managing vendor relationships.
•Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
•Certifications related to system administration, network, or information security are preferred.
•Working knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V virtualization, and Backup strategies.
•Expertise in IT policies and procedures, including security and system administration.
•Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, SQL Server, Cloud stack (O365), including Intune, Exchange, and other services. (Microsoft Certifications a plus).
•Demonstrated experience with Automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Chocolaty, Power Platform, Forms…)
•Demonstrates a desire and ability to research, learn, and utilize new technologies.
