As one of the fastest growing metal recycling and management organizations across North America, Combined Metal Industries (CMI for short!) sources and processes recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals and ensure they do not end up in a landfill or go to waste. Our recycling stream ensures that all metals that enter our yards will create something new again! We have multiple sites, located in North York, Vaughan and Cambridge.
Here’s Where You Come In!
I’m looking for an IT Superstar. I’d also be potentially interested in an Evil IT Mastermind, under the condition that any attempts at world domination will be carried out from outside the company network and on your own time. So regardless of if you’re on the side of good or evil, if you’re ridiculously good at IT, I’m going to want to talk to you. CMI needs your skills to add to our already impressive IT service desk team, where you’d be supporting our internal users and working on projects to implement new tech.
Sound Good So Far? Here’s What You Will Be Responsible For In This Role…
- Provide internal IT support to end users, including computer, phone, and mobile devices
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
- Manage M365, including working with Intune, Entra, Azure, Copilot and trying to keep up with what Microsoft has renamed each of these services to on any given week
- Work within the team to provide guidance to our more junior members and escalate to and learn from our more senior members, as applicable
- Creating Technical Documentation for the IT team as well as How-To Guides for end users
- Provide IT Orientation for new employees
- Assist with the implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions
- Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective acquisition of technology purchases
- Create, modify and troubleshoot internal scrips and dynamic forms
- Assist with or manage IT projects
- Help manage IT inventory
- Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT deskside support
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Active Directory and M365 administration.
- Proficient in using Intune for device management
- Skilled in creating clear technical documentation and user-friendly how-to guides for both IT teams and end users
- An understanding of scripting and programming (any language)
- Solid knowledge of domain network functionality
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and infrastructure, including computers, printers, mobile devices, network hardware, cabling, and phones
- Customer-focused with professionalism, tact, and sound judgment when assisting end users
- In-depth knowledge of Windows domain environments, specifically Windows 10 & 11
- Passionate about technology with a continuous learning mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle that can transport equipment up to the size of a desktop printer, to travel between locations (mileage reimbursed)
- Nice to have, but can be learned on-job: Soldering experience
