This is a temporary contract/fixed term position to provide maternity leave coverage through December 31, 2026.
We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Analyst with a strong focus on IT support and the administration of various Oil & Gas applications. This role involves supporting systems such as Petrel, GeoX, Intersect, CMG, Hampson Russell, Harmony, Cegal and Petrosys, while overseeing software license management and administration. Additionally, this role is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and management of enterprise applications via SCCM and Intune, ensuring efficient and streamlined software distribution across the organization.
- Technical Support: Provide support for Oil & Gas applications, including but not limited to Petrel, GeoX, Intersect, CMG, Hampson Russell, Harmony, Cegal and Petrosys. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to minimize business disruption.
- License Management: Administer, track, and manage software licenses for key applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies, vendor agreements, and audit requirements.
- Application Packaging & Deployment: Utilize SCCM and Intune for packaging, deployment, and management of applications across the organization.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and third party providers to address software issues, manage application lifecycle, and plan upgrades or patches.
- Documentation & Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, including license tracking reports, packaging procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Provide end-user training on the proper use of applications.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly monitor software and license usage, generating reports on licensing status, updates, and application health. Recommend optimizations based on usage patterns and licensing data.- 10+ years of experience in IT support or systems analysis, with background in a complex, enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting specialized Oil & Gas applications like Petrel, GeoX, CMG, Hampson Russell, Harmony, Intersect, Cegal, Spotfire, and Petrosys.
- History with SCCM and Intune for software packaging, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Strong license management expertise with tools like FlexLM.
- Proficiency with Windows and virtualized environments (Dizzion Frames).
- Active Directory management: user account management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with an ability to resolve complex software, hardware, and networking issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear documentation and explain concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong multi-tasking, client service, and project management capabilities.
This position is located in our Corporate Headquarters at 2700 Eighth Ave Place, West Tower in Calgary, Alberta T2P 1G1, Canada.
Parex has an in-office work schedule Monday to Thursday (in support of fostering team integration and cross-functional collaboration), with the option to work remotely from home on Friday.
