SUMMARY:
The Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, distribution, tracking, and optimization of materials, tools, and equipment used in field operations. This role ensures that inventory is managed accurately, cost-effectively, and in alignment with operational needs to support project continuity and minimize material waste or shortages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Maintain accurate inventory levels through routine cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of physical and digital inventory records.
•Coordinate the movement of inventory to and from field sites, ensuring timely delivery to meet operational demands.
•Analyze inventory usage trends and forecast needs to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
•Implement cost-saving measures such as demand planning, supplier consolidation, and bulk ordering strategies.
•Identify and eliminate obsolete, slow-moving, or excess inventory through effective control and disposition strategies.
•Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and field teams to align inventory availability with project timelines and budget constraints.
•Develop and enforce inventory control policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across field locations.
•Use inventory management systems such as Oil Country, W energy and internally created databases to manage data, generate reports, and support operational decisions.
•Track inventory KPIs such as turnover rate, stock-out frequency, carrying cost, and order accuracy.
•Support compliance with safety and regulatory standards related to storage, handling, and transportation of inventory.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, System Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field – or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
•3–5 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain—preferably in field operations or a mobile workforce environment.
•Strong understanding of inventory planning, forecasting, and cost control strategies.
•Experience using ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle).
•Advanced Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
•Proven ability to reduce inventory costs while maintaining or improving service levels.
•Excellent communication and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently and travel to job sites or remote locations as required.
•Preferred: APICS CPIM certification, Lean Six Sigma certification, or relevant technical training.

•Communication & Collaboration – Effective communication with field teams, vendors, and internal departments.
•Problem Solving – Ability to quickly troubleshoot inventory discrepancies or supply delays.
•Time Management – Prioritizing tasks across multiple projects and field sites.
•Compliance Awareness – Understanding of safety and regulatory standards related to materials handling and storage.
•Lean/Continuous Improvement Mindset – Identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a current valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the following physical activity on a frequent to constant basis:
•Sit for long periods of time.
•Constantly uses fingers and hands when dialing/answering the telephone and operating a computer or other office machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner, and computer printer.
•Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information through verbal communications in person or detect objects in and around job site over the telephone.
•Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents; operate a computer or other office machinery; or.
•Walk short distances on slippery, even, and/or uneven surfaces.
•Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, or crawl.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
•May require frequent job site visits involve performing work in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise depending upon project site.
•May travel locally during the workday.

LOCATION:
Killam Oil and Gas., Ltd is located in Laredo, Texas; this is an in-office position based at our office in Laredo/Mirando City, all applicants will be required to relocate, if necessary.
