Inventory Controller
Position Description
Accountable to maintain an accurate and optimum level of inventory on hand to support the day-to-day operations of the Hemlo site in the most economic, efficient, and effective way possible.
Responsibilities•Maintenance of the online cataloguing system for all items assigned a control identification number.
•Set and maintain the optimum stocking levels, re-order points and re-order quantities for all inventory items taking into consideration cost, usage and lead time.
•Timely release of items to the reorder system when minimum levels are breached, or demand exceeds availability.
•Weekly and monthly reconciliations
•Identify and investigate inventory reduction opportunities including obsolescence.
•Manage the procurement of bulk commodities (fuel, propane, explosives, shotcrete, reagents, etc.).
•Liaise with and maintain effective relationships with operational departments.
•Perform thorough analysis and prepare month end and quarterly reports.
•Assist with writing and revising inventory policies and procedures.
•Assist with warehouse design and layout to optimize efficiency and care and control of materials.
•Ensure awareness and be compliant with all Williams Operating Corporation, Hemlo site policies and procedures and act as a resource as they relate to Inventory Control.
•Develop and prepare Inventory reports for the Supply Chain department and user departments as required.
•Collaborate with Procurement and Warehouse to ensure there are no stock outs and no financial loss to the operation due to issues with Supply Chain.
•Know and comply with the current Mining Safety and Health regulations and Loss Prevention procedures of Barrick.
•Demonstrate social awareness, commitment, and compliance with Barrick’s Social Responsibility Policy and maintain safe working environment.
•Maintain the confidentiality of all corporate information.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•Management, Business, Finance, or Accounting background preferred
•Minimum 3 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting, mining preferred
•Planning, analysis and problem-solving skills
•Ability to actively share knowledge, respect differences of opinion and receive feedback openly.
•Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
•Easily adapt to changing priorities and challenges
•Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities and timelines and achieve results
•Knowledge of Microsoft office with high level of proficiency in Excel
•Excellent knowledge of data processing software (Knowledge of SAP MM and PM is an asset)
•Understanding of the relationship between Inventory Control and successful business performance

About The Team
Hemlo has produced more than 21 million ounces of gold and has been operating continuously for more than 30 years. It consists of the Williams mine operation, including an underground mine, and 4mtpa gold processing facility. Hemlo is located about 350 kilometers east of Thunder Bay, Ontario on Highway 17.
