ABOUT THE JOB:

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains bills of lading, inventory reports, performs cycle and random counts, receives, issues and inventories materials using detailed documents and ensures all products are stored and maintained in an efficient manner for the Ferris facility.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overseeing the process of receiving incoming shipments, ensuring accurate counts and proper storage, and directing distribution of goods.
Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP by updating databases with incoming and outgoing products, conducting regular counts, and ensuring accuracy in both digital and physical records.
Reconciliation of products received against PR/PO and BOL.
Maintain storage locations and bin locations within the material master.
Regularly performing physical inventory counts and reconciling them with system records to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Developing and implementing systems and processes to improve inventory management efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
Transfers materials as needed.
Identifying and addressing potential issues like theft or breakage to minimize losses.
Tracking inventory levels to determine when to order new stock and ensuring adequate levels to minimize shortages.
Collaborate with other departments, working with purchasing, logistics, and other departments to optimize supply chain processes and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Contacts vendors on LTL deliveries and pick-ups.
Complies with quality policies, ISO and SOX procedures.
Perform any additional duties requested by the Production Manager or Plant Manager.
Ensure area is safe and adheres to all safety regulations and policies.
Move materials via forklift or other material moving equipment.
Load and unload product from and onto tractor trailers.
Observe all safety rules.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be proficient in the use of computers and basic software programs, including excel spreadsheets.

Stooping: Positions self to you may need to do this while picking up boxes that have been delivered (This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.)
Kneeling/Crouching: Position self to check in products.
Standing/Sit: Remaining upright in a stationary position, particularly for sustained periods.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. (This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.)
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling to typing.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm to pick up boxes.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas and information accurately, in written or diagram form.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
