Job Description:
U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Inventory Control Coordinator for our Lynchburg, Virginia Plant. In this role, you will monitor and analyze usage and demand to help maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure availability.
Essential Functions:
•Oversees cycle count program to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
•Identifies challenges and implements solutions to improve overall supply position across various categories.
•Monitors and resolves inventory stock out situations and other availability concerns in a timely manner.
•Supports Receiving and other supply chain processes to help ensure materials arrive on time in good condition, meet quality standards, and are organized and stored properly.
•Works to identify potential excess and obsolete inventory and determines appropriate disposition of such items.
•Facilitates material repairs with outside vendors and determines appropriate disposition upon review of repair quotes.
•Facilitates new vendor setup process and maintains supplier/contractor insurance verification documentation.
•Leads efforts to continuously improve organization and workflow processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency within the department.
•Follows company policies and best practices to support plant cost savings efforts, supply chain improvements, and other initiatives as requested.
•Monitors and reports on various key performance indicators and other departmental metrics.
•Serves as backup for Stores and Purchasing personnel in the event of absences or other needs.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Other Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Knowledge of general production manufacturing and inventory management practices.
•Familiarity with materials used in the manufacture of ductile iron pipe.
•Basic business math skills.
•Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and inventory management in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to maintain organized and accurate records with attention to detail.
•Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
