Job Summary
Join ONEOK for your summer internship! As a Technician Intern you will receive training and exposure to various types of equipment, processes, and applications. This internship will focus on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair/replacement, and completion of project activities throughout the Houston area. The Internship will include a variety of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation experiences. This is an opportunity to apply your educational knowledge directly and gain field experience to prepare for a full-time Technician role in the energy industry!
What You Will Do:
• Assist with the installation, operation, and maintenance of instrumentation such as transmitters, transducers, fire and gas detectors, gas analyzers, and flow computers.
• Maintain ESD and safety interlock systems (SIS) with scheduled testing.
• Support the maintenance and operation of analytical equipment, SCADA systems, remote terminal units, DCS, and PLC systems.
• Maintain and test operation technology (OT) networks and network equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and analytical testing on compressors, engines, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
• Maintain low and medium voltage electrical power circuits, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
• Maintain and prepare reports and records, including maintenance and repair logs, safety and environmental reports, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pressure readings, material orders, and loop sheets.
What You Need:
• High school diploma required and must be at least 18 years old.
• Currently enrolled in a relevant technical or related program preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation and electrical principles is a plus.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
