Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our drilling team for a 90-day internship. Working approximately 30 hours per week, the intern will gain hands-on experience in the energy industry, support daily operations, and assist with ongoing projects. This opportunity provides valuable insight into the energy industry, with mentorship and learning at its core.
Responsibilities:
•Conduct literature reviews to analyze and summarize the application of AI/ML techniques in drilling operations.
•Build and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and prepare datasets for machine learning models.
•Design, implement, and train machine learning algorithms tailored to drilling challenges.
•Use programming languages such as Python to develop and deploy AI/ML solutions.
•Monitor model performance in production environments and continuously refine models for improved accuracy and efficiency.
•Produce a written report of findings.
Key Skills:
•Solid understanding of machine learning principles and data processing techniques.
•Strong proficiency in Python and experience with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, Gensim, and spaCy.
•Familiarity with software development best practices.
•Excellent problem-solving, time management, communication, and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Knowledge of petroleum or drilling engineering is a plus.
Qualifications:
•Must be currently enrolled in a degree program related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
•Must submit a recent and unofficial transcript along with resume to show good academic standing for consideration.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office environment. Secondary responsibilities of the role may require the use of standard lab equipment such as a tensile testing frame.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
