Position Summary
As a Pipeline NDT Technician, you will work with a safety-first team to set up and organize basic customer job site requirements, calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with procedures regarding applicable codes, specifications, and standards.
IAG is hiring entry level and skilled candidates for the following positions:
•Assistant NDT Technician
•Advanced Pipeline Integrity Technician
Key Roles & Responsibilities
•Performs and/or assists with nondestructive testing and inspections in accordance with written procedures, national codes, or customer specifications.
•Communicate updated procedures and detailed findings in support of inspection techniques within all levels of crew and clients when applicable.
•Dependable and prompt in relation to inspection report creation, timecard submittals, expense reconciliations, training requirements, and other business-related tasks assigned.
•Trainees/Junior/Assistant Techs will support skilled technicians with setup, scanning, calibration, and reporting, as directed.
•LII/Senior/Advanced Techs will direct, mentor, and train Trainees/Assistants/Junior Technicians and report project updates to supervisors, and inspect and interpret readings in real time to determine areas of interest.
•Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.
•Set-up and calibrate all equipment used, interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports.
•Remains abreast of new technologies and test procedures within the assigned organization and continually expands inspection qualifications.
•Follows and enforces the Company-required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
•Actively participates in JSA and uses all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensures the safety of others working in the area.
•Communicate with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
•All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•Ability to adhere to a written method or procedure.
•Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the system and software of the advanced and specialized inspection tools and software being deployed across the industry.
•Confidence to STOP work when a problem is immediately identified.
•Knowledge of and ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action and developing solutions.
•Uses analytical and critical thinking skills to plan, identify and troubleshoot solutions to potential problems.
•Ability to plan and manage resources, monitor and assess tasks, report and record findings and requirements.

•Ability to read and comprehend technical documents.
•Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products.
•Knowledge and understanding inspection technology.
•Ability to read and comprehend simple or complex instructions and detailed correspondence.
•Ability to deliver or write simple or complex correspondence.
•Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Management Responsibilities
•This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May act as crew lead depending on the position.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications)
•High School diploma or GED required.
•Current Driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
•NDT Trainee: Entry-Level role. Technical education and experience, preferred. This position is intended to provide a career path into Non-destructive Testing and must be willing to obtain certification.
•Junior Tech/NDT Assistant: Entry-Level role with 6+ months’ experience in a similar position. Proof of education/classroom hours required.
•LII NDT Tech: 1+ years' experience. LII certification, proof of education/classroom hours, & OJT required. LII certification in methods: UT, MT, PT and be willing to test out in these areas.
•Senior NDT Tech: 3+ years’ integrity pipeline experience. LII or higher NDT certification, proof of education/classroom hours, & OJT required. LII certification in methods UT, MT, PT, VT and be willing to test out in these areas. Advanced certification in at least (1) of: Phased Array, Creaform Laser Mapping, Automated UT, AUT Corrosion Mapping.
•Advanced NDT Tech: 5+ years’ integrity pipeline experience. LII or higher NDT certification, proof of education/classroom hours, & OJT required. LII or higher in UT, MT PT, VT and be willing to test out in these areas Advanced certification in (1) or more: Eddy Current with SPYNE or SHARCK, Creaform Laser Mapping, AUT Corrosion Mapping, Automated UT, Phased Array, HydroForm, FlexoForm, RVI, FPI, ASNT
Environmental/Working Conditions
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
•Must have excellent depth perception, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate all machines safely.
•The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
•The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Other Considerations/Requirements
•Willingness and ability to travel domestically, often on short notice, and for extended periods of time.
•Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
•All positions require overtime/weekend/off-hours.
•Must be able to travel up to 85% of the time.
