Performs troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and installation of instruments, electronic devices, computer digital equipment, and electrical equipment.
+ Maintains and repairs electronic and pneumatic instrumentation. + Possesses a basic understanding and application of instrumentation math, and units of measurement. + Demonstrates knowledge of flow, pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation. + Maintains and troubleshoots various types of solenoid valves, switches, meters, indicators, and temperature sensors. + Uses test equipment and performs routine calibrations. + Demonstrates ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and wiring schematics. + Performs work activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner. + Troubleshoot and repair DCS/PLC related failures. Understand loop powered vs. field powered. + Troubleshoot and repair Hart and Fieldbus communication loops. + Troubleshoot and repair analyzers, Oxygen, SO2, CO, NOX, H2S, Control Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) and Combustion analyzers for control of refinery process conditions and safety. + Identify and troubleshoot PID control loops and tuning parameters required for operational reliability. + Identify and troubleshoot pneumatic loops. + Remove from service and disassemble control valves and repair and reinstall. + Install piping, conduit, etc., if needed. + Check new equipment using applicable tools and equipment and criteria (standards and schematics) to calibrate. + Fight incipient level fires using dry chemical fire extinguishers, steam hoses, fire hydrants / foam stations. + Required to work 8 hour shift. Must be on call as needed. May be required to work 12 hour rotating shift work, (days & nights) including weekends and holidays during turnaround work. Refinery operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year + Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
