Job Summary

The Consulting Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the processes, procedures, and activities required to improve and sustain the thermal efficiency of the units in Luminant’s fossil (Coal and Gas) and nuclear generation fleet. In this role, the incumbent may supervise engineers and Performance specialists in their daily activities associated with this objective. This position also provides management and oversight of the Luminant Fossil Generation Performance Testing Department in their activities associated with testing and reporting on plant specific equipment. The incumbent applies sound engineering judgment and knowledge to identify and resolve unit performance issues related to efficient unit operation.

- Occasional long, irregular hours including work in excess of 12-hour days for extended periods

- Frequent travel between company facilities, and occasional overnight travel

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

- 12+ yrs related job experience

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

Key Metrics

- Recognized subject matter expert for an important power plant component and/or system

- Drives consistency across the Fossil Generation fleet pertaining to efficient unit operation.

- Responsible for monitoring the development and maintenance of the fossil unit performance curves
