Main Functions
•The Instrument Controls Coordinator should have a strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental (SSHE) requirements and serve as a subject matter expert for maintenance teams.
•Provides expertise on specific processes, procedures, technical matters, and equipment, including instrumentation, control systems, and analyzers (“I&C”).
•Demonstrates advanced maintenance skills for I&C equipment types and provides guidance for complex troubleshooting.
•Participates in constructability and maintenance design reviews and supports routine maintenance, Turnarounds, or new project support.
•Works effectively with operations and maintenance organizations, influencing without authority and networking across diverse groups.
•May fulfill roles such as I&C Coordinator, Analyzer Technician, Document Control Services (DCS) Technician, PLC Technician, or Maintenance Specialist.
Tasks and Responsibilities
•Implements maintenance design philosophies, including project specifications for I&C.
•Provides technical support and coordination for risk assessments, incident investigations, and conceptual/pre-Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies.
•Supports coordination of cost management and productivity improvement plans.
•Assists operating teams in troubleshooting complex issues and provides operations support during peak loads.
•Offers technical input for training development and delivery.
•Shares best practices and feedback for process enhancements.
•Participates in company networks and develops strong personal expertise while sharing knowledge through networking.
Skills and Qualifications
•Previous experience in a closely related position.
•Behavioral Skills: Adaptability, analytical capability, collaboration, effective communication.
•Functional Skills: SSHE management, maintenance planning, scheduling, and management for I&C systems.
•Discipline-appropriate certifications or equivalent professional experience.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
•Effective communication skills to describe field conditions and recommend remediation steps.
•Team player with a willingness to assist others, even without direct authority.
•Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities.
PLC Systems Experience with Mighty Con, High Deck, Red Lion, and Allen Bradley systems.
5/2 schedule, 40+ hours per week, Vacation, sick, and holiday PTO, Medical insurance and 401K with a 2% match, $1,000 annual FR clothing allowance, Company-provided truck.
