We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Commissioning Technician to support commissioning and start-up activities for a major LNG facility on the Gulf Coast. The role will focus on verifying, calibrating, and functionally testing field instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and reliable operation during pre-commissioning and start-up phases.
· Reports to the I&C lead tech for planning and execution management support.
· Carries out I&C commissioning execution work as directed by I&C Lead tech.
· Communicates with the Commissioning I&C lead tech for technical support.
· Carries out daily instrument commissioning work comprising of loop checking, instrument repair, and input field support for project activities such as leak testing etc, instrument field support for interlock testing, instrument field support for logic testing, instrument field support for Cause & Effect testing, instrument field support for dynamic equipment runs.
· Be able to use all test equipment associated with I&C field commissioning.
· Responsible for completion of commissioning B check sheets in a technical and legible manner.
· Responsible for completion of field instrument red lines on documentation such as loop diagrams, data sheets, wiring diagrams etc in a technical and legible manner.
· Responsible for escorting and providing instrument field support for commissioning vendors as required
· Responsible for field verification of punch list completion and signing off in systems completion database as required.
· Practical knowledge of accessing the systems completion database.
· Ability to carry out practical verification of systems completion database against engineering drawings and databases.
· Accepting and or signing onto permits, JSA, FLRA’s, toolbox talks in the capacity of front-line user.
· Will create RFI’s first line content in the manner of technical field question.
· Ability to carry out instrument field tasks within requirements of project permitting, isolations, zero energy states and full compliance with CSU and Area Prime Safe Working practices, methods and processes including JSA’s / FLRA’s / Toolbox talks etc.
· Field-based work at LNG export terminal or construction site in the Gulf Coast region.
· Physically demanding conditions including working at heights, in hot/humid weather, and confined spaces.
· Extended shifts and rotational schedules may apply depending on project phase
· Technician certified, preferably with college technical diploma and 5+ years of relevant and transferable Project/Engineering/Commissioning experience.
· Established track record in frontline technician Commissioning, Start Up and initial plant operations.
· Proven strong technical skills in discipline subject matter.
· Good working knowledge of fire & gas devices.
· Good working knowledge of E-house commissioning inclusive of transformers, MCC, switchgear and UPS commissioning.
· Good working knowledge of loop checking, interlock testing, logic testing and C&E testing.
