We are seeking a talented, experienced and passionate Learning and Development (L&D) Instructional Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that acts with urgency and has an agile and iterative mindset. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative and engaging e-learning and training programs that align with our organizational goals. This role involves conducting needs assessments, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), and utilizing various instructional design methodologies and technologies to create effective learning experiences. The L&D Instructional Designer will also develop assessment tools to measure the success of training programs and continuously improve content based on feedback and data analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Create comprehensive and interactive e-learning courses, modules, and training programs that includes components such as course structures, learning objectives, knowledge tests and course sequencing.
Utilize instructional design principles, adult learning theories and current learning trends to develop content that enhances learner engagement and retention.
Develop storyboards, scripts, and multimedia elements (e.g., videos, animations, audio/video and graphics) to support instructional content and tailored to the audience
Needs Analysis:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to conduct needs assessments to identify learning objectives, current/future training gaps, accessibility requirements (closed-captioning, scripting, high-contrast, etc.) and target audience requirements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and validate content.
Evaluation and Assessment:
Develop assessment tools and methods to measure the effectiveness of e-learning and training programs.
Leverage learner feedback and performance data to make ongoing improvements and updates to content to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the organization.
Project Management:
Manage multiple e-learning and/or training projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are consistently met.
Coordinate and ensure regular communications with cross-functional teams, including Stakeholders, SMEs, and technical staff.
Technology Integration:
Utilize e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) to create and deploy courses.
Explore how L&D AI platforms can reduce development time while building out engaging and dynamic content.
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in e-learning, adult learning, training and instructional design.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather input, provide updates, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Provide training and support to instructors and learners on the use of e-learning materials and platforms.
Qualifications and Requirements:
This position requires a confident individual contributor with a passion for process improvement and continuous learning in the specialty subcontractor industry. Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on e-learning.
Deep proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline & Rise, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
Familiarity with SCORM and other e-learning standards.
Experience with graphic design and multimedia development programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Visme, Camtasia, etc.).
Knowledge of gamification and interactive learning strategies.
Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and strict meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Creative mindset with a passion for designing innovative and engaging learning experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education or Instructional Design/Technology
Bilingual English/Español
Familiarity with AI platforms such as Chat GPT, Co-Pilot and L&D specific AI platforms such as Thinktific, Teachable, LearnWorlds, etc.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

Ability to incorporate adult learning principles into program design
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Articulate 360, Cornerstone OnDemand, Vyond and other design platforms
